Tensegrity: The word was coined by Buckminster Fuller as a combination of the words tension and integrity. These sturdy structures have a gelatinous dynamic created by the balance between the tension (wires) and compression units (dowels).
William has been making tensegrity sculptures for over ten years and below are some photos of sculptures he's made over that time. Has has also started painting some of the sculptures with interesting results. The sculpture becomes something like an abstract painting that changes depending on the angle you view it from.
